I love the roundness of fruit and vegetables and their colour. Pumpkins and figs are a favourite of mine because of that. This painting would just liven a plain room, or adorn a country kitchen. Its heavy with colour and texture and designed to make your wall literally "pop"!!
While in France for a while, the markets were full of beautiful pumpkins, and in the US, they are a gorgeous decoration for Thanksgiving on country folks' porches. They are familiar and represent to me, Autumn, warmth and fertility.
